Andorra
Andorra is a small country in the Pyrenees, located between Spain and France. It is a popular destination for a day trip, thanks to its favourable prices, beautiful scenery and many attractions.
Andorra is a real walhalla for shopaholics. In fact, prices here are much lower than in the Netherlands. You can find clothes, shoes, electronics and souvenirs, among other things. The capital Andorra la Vella has the most shops!
It is also a great destination for nature lovers. You can enjoy hiking, cycling or skiing. In summer you can enjoy the beautiful mountain views and in winter you can visit one of the many ski resorts.
The drive to this beautiful, small country is also worth mentioning. With the countryside, hairpin bends in the mountains and great views of the mountain peaks, you won't realise that you have been in the car for some time to reach your destination!
Tips:
Whether you go shopping, hiking or skiing, wear comfortable shoes. Andorra is a mountainous country and you will be walking a lot! Also, many restaurants and shops do not accept credit cards, so it is handy to bring cash. And be prepared for the differences in altitude! Andorra is at an altitude of about 1,000 metres. If you are not used to altitude differences, this can take some getting used to. Drink plenty of water and take a rest if you feel tired.
