Almost every town and village in Ariège has a place to rent canoes, and further south, where the countryside gives way to forests, you can usually rent rafts for some extra excitement. Canoe rental companies often offer various water activities, such as whitewater rafting and kayak polo, making it ideal for family outings. The area south of Foix is the most popular, where the River Oriége flows through a narrow valley, with many rapids and bends. Here you can enjoy the wooded nature on the banks and the impressive rock faces, with plenty of spots along the way to stop for a short break. Let yourself drift with the family, bring some food and enjoy a carefree day.

Bij canyoning maak je een tocht door een kloof, meestal met stromend water, waarbij je loopt, zwemt, klimt, glijdt, springt en abseilt.
